O Almighty God, as thy holy Apostles Simon and Jude who heard thy calling and thereafter didst walk the path following thy Son Jesus Christ; grant us so to be joined in the unity of spirit by their doctrine. The Collect

O God, How shining and splendid are your gifts; in the mystical body of thy Son Christ our Lord thou enkindles the flame of thy love in the hearts of thy blessed saints and has bound them together in one communion, fraternity and faith.  At this time of ever shortening days, we pray that that thou would pour thy bright light into our hearts and minds and awaken us and grant unto us the same faith, that we may with loving obedience follow in the footsteps of thy saints in the ways of holy living, that we may come unto thy holy table and the ineffable joys which thou hast prepared for all those that love thee; through the same Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

Almighty God, our heavenly father, in whose will is our peace; we beseech thee to receive the prayers of thy servants who call upon thee, that thou wouldst turn our hearts and the hearts of all souls unto thy light.  We pray unto thee that thou would bless all who suffer in this world; especially this day, those that are afflicted by the tragedy of war, for all those past and present and for those who are to come.  We pray thee for all those who have fallen in conflict and for those who are in grief.  Hear our prayers for all whom we remember this day and fulfill in them the purpose of thy love, through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen
